Day 14: Used Rainwater to Water Plants
On Friday, I put out a bowl to harvest rainwater. After two days of rain, I was able to get about a cup of water and used it to water the plants on my fire escape garden this morning.
You might be saying, it’s only a cup. Yes it is, but imagine if more of you did this. That cup then gets to be a lot more than a cup. It’s the little things that when multiplied become huge.
According to GreenHomes, The average U.S. household uses almost 150,000 gallons of water per year with up to 50% of water going to landscaping during summer months.
What was your simple green act for the day?
