Day 304: Used Vinegar to Deter Ants

Filled up a spray bottle with vinegar and water at a 2:1 ratio and sprayed ants to deter them.

Coffee grinds can also be used to deter ants.

Check the Household Products Database from the US Department of Health and Human Services for products to see the possible health effects.

    Just curious... why did you dilute the vinegar?

    Make it last longer and to tone down the smell. You can be hardcore and use it full strength if you want.
  • This works really well. Also, though - If you want to prevent them from entering your home in the first place then squeeze orange rind, dilute it with a little water and spray at possible entry points. Doing this regularly will help keep the ants at bay.
